FAQs

What is Elite Performance Medical?

Elite Performance Medical is a training and placement program built specifically for former professional and college athletes who want to break into medical device sales. We were founded by a former MLB pitcher and a 10-year medical sales leader, and we train athletes across every major vertical in the industry — from orthopedics and spine to dental, aesthetics, surgical, and beyond.

Who is EPM for?

EPM is designed for former professional and collegiate athletes who are ready to pursue a career in medical sales. If you played at a high level and bring the work ethic, coachability, and competitive mindset that coaches and teams demand, you have the foundation this industry rewards. We help you build everything else.

How long does the program take?

The EPM curriculum is self-guided, so you move at your own pace. Most athletes complete the coursework over 6 to 8 weeks while attending weekly live calls. Placement support begins upon graduation and continues until you land a role.

What does the program cost?

Program pricing is discussed on your Discovery call. We keep it straightforward — no hidden fees, no vague commitments. Schedule a call and we will walk you through all of it.

What kinds of companies do EPM athletes get placed with?

Our graduates have been placed with companies including Stryker, Smith+Nephew, BD, Zimmer Biomet, and others across orthopedics, spine, surgical, dental, and more. We have relationships with hiring managers across the industry and advocate personally for every graduate in our network.

Do I need a science or medical background to apply?

No. The clinical knowledge is something we teach. What you already have — the discipline, coachability, resilience, and competitive drive — is what most training programs cannot teach. We build on the foundation you already have as an athlete.

What makes EPM different from other medical sales training programs?

Most programs teach you about the industry. EPM puts you inside it. Our founders have lived the athlete-to-sales transition personally, and our network of hiring partners, surgeons, and active reps is built from real relationships — not a vendor list. We also do not stop at graduation. Our placement support, alumni community, and ongoing mentorship mean we are invested in your career long after the course ends.

Is EPM affiliated with any player associations?

Yes. EPM launched its inaugural cohort in partnership with the NFLPA in early 2026 and is actively building partnerships with additional player associations across professional baseball and other sports. These partnerships reflect our commitment to reaching athletes through trusted channels and providing programs that meet the standards of professional sports organizations.
