What is the NFLPA x EPM Pilot Program?
This pilot program is a partnership between the MLB Players Association and Elite Performance Medical (EPM) to help former MLB players transition into successful careers in medical device sales. It’s a comprehensive 6-week online training course, followed by hands-on product training and job placement assistance.
Who is eligible to participate?
The program is designed specifically for current and former MLB players looking to transition into the medical device sales industry. If you have a strong work ethic, team-oriented mindset, and a desire to succeed in sales, this program is for you!
How much does the program cost?
The program is free for participants selected through this pilot program. The MLBPA and EPM have partnered to offer this training at no cost to athletes. You will just have to cover travel expenses to and from Events.
What will I learn in the program?
You’ll receive in-depth training in:
Medical device sales fundamentals
Product knowledge and industry trends
Sales strategies and territory management
Operating room (OR) etiquette and working with surgeons

Is there an in-person component?
Yes, before and after completing the 6-week online course, participants will attend an in-person orientation and graduation event, which includes hands-on product training with medical devices. You’ll meet industry professionals and practice what you’ve learned in a real-world setting.
